Brand New World was founded by Frederic Westerberg in 2001 as a creative agency and consulting service for TV broadcasters. The vision of content and technical convergence of media and telecommunications has been the central focal point from the very beginning.
In spring 2002, Brand New World launched one of the first interactive Java games in the context of the CeBIT trade show in Hannover, making it a forerunner in the exploding mobile gaming boom.
Early on, Brand New World recognized the potential of short message services (SMS) as a mobile dialogue channel for media, especially for large broadcasting networks. Shortly after the launch of premium SMS at the beginning of 2003, Brand New World, along with the TV station ProSieben, developed the most successful premium SMS contest worldwide to date, "WINPIN" in which over 4 million viewers participated, and received the "Eyes and Ears Award" for the most innovative interactive TV campaign.
